Today saw Dunstable and District Scouts march through the center of Dunstable to St. Mary's Catholic Church for the St. George's Day service. It was wonderful to see the streets lined with people, waving flags and saluting the groups of scouts as they marched by, joined by the Bag pipes and drums and the Salvation army band.
Please feel free to watch and share this video from our new YouTube account of the St. George's Day Parade.

Great to see the firm arm of the police in Dunstable.......
While sitting in Priory Gardens enjoying afternoon tea with a friend, we was very disappointed to see a group of lads throwing paper everywhere!! However.... The CCTV spied them and the swift arm of the law/PCSO's had them picking the litter back up! The beauty of the gardens was restored once again....

Medieval Dunstable in Priory House Gardens
With the Planting of a Physic Garden in Priory House Gardens on 13th April 2013

Members of Medieval Dunstable, Dunstable in Bloom, sub groups of Promoting Dunstable came together to help plant the Physic Garden in Priory House Gardens.

Young and old and inbetween, gardeners, non gardeners, people just walking past wondering what was going on! They brought their own trowels or borrowed one and then got digging and planting.
The solid Oak fence and supply the flowers, plants, herbs and trees were paid for by the Medieval Dunstable Lottory Fund. DTC (Dunstable Town Council) put in the man hours to erect the fence behind the new display and help with some planting.
Everyone got stuck in!

NEWS FLASH!! PLEASE READ AND SHARE WITH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE ~ Thank you
THIS NEWS IS HOPEFULLY WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING TO HEAR ABOUT THE COURT DRIVE "SHARED SPACE" ROAD SCHEME.
Update on Court Drive
Thanks to everyone who has conta...cted us about the new "shared space" road scheme in Dunstable over the past few months This new approach to street design has provoked strong reactions. We've been carefully monitoring these as well as giving some time to allow the scheme to bed in.
A number of you have stressed the need for lanes to be more clearly deliniated and for more guidance to be given about where and how to give way to other road users. We're taking this feedback on board and are exploring permanent measures that will give more clarity to drivers about how the scheme should work.
To address these concerns in the short term, we will this evening (subject to weather conditions) be installing temporary white lines in the following locations:
- Kingsway / College Drive junction
- On Court Drive either side of the Asda roundabout
- On Queensway at the 90 degree bends
The permanent measures, which will be more in keeping with the concept of shared space, should be in place by the summer.
We will continue to monitor the scheme to see if other imporovements are needed and we will continue to keep you updated about the permenant features and any further improvements.
You can view a drawing of where the white lines will be installed on our website www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/courtdrive
